Description:

Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (uPVC) is a unique substance that meets all of the standards. Its extensive use can be attributed to the wonderful combination of properties it has to provide. According to the British Plastics Federation (BPF), uPVC is used in around 80% of the world's windows today. The uPVC profile is an extruded portion of PVC that has been treated with additives to make it acceptable for use in uPVC windows and doors.

The outstanding features of uPVC, such as stiffness, lightness, thermal and weather resistance, durability, and low manufacturing costs, helped it become a tremendous commercial success. Builders and architects continue to praise it for its versatility and utility, particularly as a window framing material. Products made of uPVC are fire resistant. This is due to the fact that they contain more than 70% unplasticized uPVC, which converts to 57 percent chlorine. This effectively contributes to the flame retardant. Furthermore, it has a very high ignition temperature of 400oC compared to 210oC for wood, and an index of 50% compared to 21% for wood.
